Old World CraftsmanshipWhile there are exceptions, we believe that people want their furniture to last for more than a few years. EcoSmart furniture offers heirloom quality furniture built to last by using "Old World" construction techniques such as mortise and tenon joinery and dovetails. Our goal is that each piece of furniture you purchase provides you many years of enjoyment. Smart Raw Materials The world around us is the only one we have; we try to help people enjoy it while minimizing our impact on it. By reclaiming lumber from numerous sources including discarded industrial pallets and wood beams from fallen barns, we minimize the carbon footprint of our products. We gather our wood from within a 500 mile radius of our headquarters, and we do our part to preserve the environment by using non-toxic glues, water based stains and finishes that are certified by the Green Guard Environmental Institute. EcoSmart tries to incorporate the use of recycled glass and other items whenever we can. At times, we have to be extra creative in building our designs; we're OK with that! The very nature of reclaimed lumber, including unusual grain patterns, knots, and worm and nail holes adds to the individuality of each piece. Read more...
